CLEAR President's Message by Budd Hetrick

As preparations continue for CLEAR’s 2007 annual conference in Atlanta, I can’t help but reflect on what has already been an eventful year for this organization. CLEAR’s Board of Directors just recently returned from an excellent strategic planning session in Lexington, Kentucky. That meeting focused on continuing the growth in membership and services that has served this organization and the regulatory community so well these past 27 years.

President's Message by Budd Hetrick

It is my pleasure to report that we are having another good year at CLEAR. Following a successful annual conference in September, we have scheduled additional basic and specialized training programs, a board member training, and an executive leadership program. As CLEAR’s programs continue to expand, its Board of Directors prepares to take another look at our operational plan. This review will ensure that the plan continues to serve us well as a guiding document for the next few years.  Read full message

President's Report to the CLEAR Membership by Linda Waters

This year was filled with many new projects. On the accompanying list of activities you will note that we have launched a popular new Webinar series, we have published three Resource Briefs and a report on Licensing Agencies and Emergency Preparedness, and we have updated the Board Member Training Online program.
This has been a banner year for training programs for a record number of investigators and inspectors.

President's Report to the CLEAR Membership by Linda Waters

Welcome to spring and nicer weather for us all.  CLEAR was very busy this past winter preparing for a full round of spring and summer activities.  Some of the highlights included:

* a webinar series that kicked off with a well-received presentation in April on Fraudulent Credentials and False Information.
* publication of two new Resource Briefs
* program preparation for Expect the Unexpected: Are We Clearly Prepared?, CLEAR's 26th annual conference
* The National Certified Investigator/Inspector Program is enjoying its busiest year ever.

President's Message

By Linda Waters

As this year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to thank you for your involvement in CLEAR and let you know of some of the exciting initiatives that are underway for 2006. In the days following CLEAR’s 25th anniversary conference in Phoenix, work had already begun on the content for the 2006 meeting to be held September 14- 16 in Alexandria, Virginia.  Given the tumultuous events that have occurred in the past year, it is appropriate that we examine what role CLEAR should have when unanticipated events occur.  Our theme for the 2006 Annual Conference will be “Expect the Unexpected: Are We Clearly Prepared?” CLEAR continues to welcome session proposals by January 3 for online submissions or January 12 for on-site submissions at the mid-year meeting.     Article continued.

President's Report to the CLEAR Membership by Bonnie Rhea Adams

As the end of my presidency approaches and I reflect on the past year, it is amazing how quickly the time has gone by and yet how much change has happened during this seemingly short time.

CLEAR has new bylaws, a new organizational plan, the helpful results of a comprehensive member survey (a big “thank you” to those of you who participated), and a 25th anniversary to celebrate.

It is also my pleasure to report to you on the new President-Elect and members of the Board of Directors.  Article continued.

President's Column by Bonnie Rhea Adams

Summer is here, which means that CLEAR’s 25th annual conference is just around the corner. I’m excited both about the special anniversary program our committee is putting together and the beautiful meeting location at the Pointe South Mountain Resort. Of course, we’ll be there to work and learn, but just in case you can get a few hours of your own while there, you should know that:

The Oasis, named "one of the top 10 theme parks in the nation" by The Travel Channel, is on the grounds of our meeting property.  Article continued

President’s Column

by Bonnie Rhea Adams

Welcome to the revised version of CLEAR News Online. In January, we listened to what you said about the need for CLEAR to provide its members with current information, yet not overload them with too many individual pieces of information.

As a quarterly publication, CLEAR News couldn’t contain much in the way of timely reporting, so we’ve settled on switching it to a Web log (blog).  This format permits posting of items as we become aware of them and also allows you to provide news articles, legislation, or other items of interest that are online in your area. Just let us know about them and we’ll add a link from CLEAR’s Web log.

You’ll still receive a periodic e-mail reminder that the latest edition of the Web log is ready, but readers interested in reading the news can drop by anytime as it is being built online.   Article continued
