The Federation of Law Societies of Canada has launched a free online tool, the Interactive Model Code of Professional Conduct. The tool links sections of the Federation's Model Code, now implemented by ten jurisdictions, with the corresponding rules of professional conduct in every law society in Canada. The Model Code was introduced in 2009 with the intent of harmonizing regulations governing members of the legal profession across Canada and sets out expected minimum standards of conduct. The new tool will allow quick and easy comparison of codes across the jurisdictions with reference back to the Model Code.
