Virginia Regulatory Member Receives International Organization’s Most Prestigious Award
RESTON, VIRGINIA (UNITED STATES) – October 28, 2014 – Kathleen (Kate) Nosbisch, Executive Director of the Virginia Board of Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers, and Landscape Architects (APELSCIDLA), is this year’s recipient of the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards’ (CLARB) President’s Award.
CLARB President Stephanie Landregan (2013–2014) presented the award to Nosbisch at CLARB’s Annual Meeting September 24–27 in Reston, Virginia, in recognition of Nosbisch’s willingness to provide continual support to CLARB.
“Kate has been a terrific force in connecting CLARB with the Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation (CLEAR), opening opportunities for CLARB to provide richer members training sessions. Her dedication to the landscape architecture profession is shown through her continuous service—volunteering whenever we've needed it and advocating on behalf of CLARB’s initiatives,” said Landregan.
Having served as President for CLEAR, Nosbisch has been instrumental in connecting CLARB with CLEAR, adding regulatory expertise, training and best practice resources to the organization’s meetings and members. In addition, Nosbisch served on the MBE Committee (2010–2012).
In 2013, Nosbisch served on the Welfare Regulation Workgroup and has been an advocate for CLARB’s welfare initiative ever since. In September 2014, she presented CLARB’s welfare initiative story at the CLEAR conference as a case study for innovation in regulation.
